Virus Notification - Real or Not?

Williamson, John (CAP, GEFA) -- Wed, 2 Feb 2000 01:25:07 +0100 (MET)

Has anyone actually verified that there is indeed a virus contained in any
of the message attachments from:

  Graham Alston [graham@fullspec.com.au]
  Files: ATT104728.txt & ATT104729.txt

and/or:
  Nathan Dietsch [ndietsch@tripoint.com.au]
  Files: ATT107052.txt & ATT107053.txt

I've run NAV 5.0 on my system with the latest (1/24/2000) virus definitions
and found no problems. I further saved the message attachments in a separate
directory (floppy) and ran NAV against them again. They come up clean.

I've also had NAV Auto-Protect enabled the whole time, and it's been superb
at catching problems like this. So I ask again, is this a genuine virus
alert, or am I missing something here?
